We organize meals, party catering, and meeting coffees for events held at the college smoothly from our own kitchen.
Beautiful facilities for parties at Kainuun Opisto
Kainuun Opisto’s magnificent environment and versatile facilities are excellently suited for various family celebrations. With us, you can celebrate, for example, weddings, baptisms, and birthdays, as well as memorial services. Our facilities can host parties for up to 200 people.
Guests coming from further away have the possibility of accommodation at the college. There is enough accommodation for everyone.
Party menus
For parties and events, you can choose your favorite from various menu options. We take into account possible special diets as well as your wishes regarding the servings. With us, you can organize parties with both food and coffee service or just coffee service.
- Menu 1 and 2 include a warm meal as well as festive coffee servings.
- Kainuu-style soup meal is a complete menu entity that fits perfectly for different occasions.
- Festive coffee setting is a menu composed of savory and sweet pastries, well-suited for shorter events.
- Prices for all menu entities include napkins and final cleaning.

Soup and festive coffee, 38.5 €/person, minimum billing 10 people.
- Main course: Fish or meat soup
- Breads: Dark and white bread, spreads, cheese and cold cuts, tomato, fresh cucumber, pickled cucumber
- Meal drinks: Home beer (kotikalja), milk, juice
Dessert: Berry soup/kissel
Menu 2
Festive food and festive coffee, 46 €/person, minimum billing 10 people.
- Main course: Karelian stew OR oven salmon OR beef brisket in sauce
- Sides: Mashed potatoes or boiled potatoes, vegetable side dish
- Salads: Green salad, mushroom salad, cheesy salad
- Fish: Cured salmon (with Karelian stew)
- Breads: Dark and white bread, spreads
- Meal drinks: Home beer (kotikalja), milk, juice
Dessert: Berry soup/kissel
Festive Coffee
Festive Coffee (Included in Menus 1 and 2)
- Cream cake, choice of: Strawberry filling, raspberry filling, or caramel (kinuski) frosting.
- Also includes: Bread cheese (leipäjuusto), cookie, coffee, tea (brewed), juice.
- Price includes napkins and final cleaning.
Kainuu-style soup meal
From local Kainuu ingredients – food prepared with love by the College’s own kitchen. 20 €/person, minimum billing 25 people.
- Bread assortment: House’s own white bread, rye bread, rice pasties (riisipiirakat) and egg butter.
- Drinks: Home beer, milk, water.
- Soup: Kainuu fish soup or smoked meat soup.
- Dessert: Old-fashioned buttermilk jelly (piimähyytelö).
Festive Coffee Setting
Coffee service with savory and sweet pastries.
20–40 people: 38.50 €/person.
Over 40 people: 35 €/person.
- Children 4–12 years -50% of the setting price and under 4 years free of charge.
- Savory: Fish or meat sandwich cake (L), rice pasties and egg butter (L), vegetable pie (L).
- Sweet: Cream cake (L) (choice of strawberry, raspberry, or caramel), cookie (L), bread cheese (L).
- Drinks: Coffee, tea (brewed), juice.
- Price includes napkins and final cleaning.
