TUVA education
Preparatory Education for Programs Leading to an Upper Secondary Qualification (TUVA), also available with an S2 focus (Finnish as a Second Language),
also available with an S2 focus (Finnish as a Second Language), is aimed at anyone who does not yet have an upper secondary qualification or who needs support and guidance in finding the right educational path. TUVA is a fantastic opportunity to reflect and build your future direction!
The TUVA program spans 38 weeks and lasts for one year.
A personal plan is created for every student, outlining how their individual educational journey will progress. The mandatory module of the qualification is Study and Career Planning Skills.
In addition, students can explore different upper secondary options, improve their basic education grades, strengthen basic skills, gain work-life experience, learn life skills, and choose elective studies from the college’s offerings.
COMPONENTS OF THE EDUCATION
Common module:
- Study and Career Planning (2–10 weeks)
Optional modules:
- Strengthening Basic Skills (1–30 weeks)
- Upper Secondary School Studies and Preparation (1–30 weeks)
- Vocational Education Studies and Preparation (1–30 weeks)
- Work-Life Skills and Work-Based Learning (1–20 weeks)
- Life Skills and Social Inclusion (1–20 weeks)
- Elective Studies (1–10 weeks)
In TUVA education, it is also possible to participate for a shorter period and then flexibly transition to upper secondary education.
Learning materials, instruction, accommodation, and meals are free of charge in TUVA education.
